I use Google Analytics for my company and my clients. But I’ve never delved in beyond pageviews and traffic sources. So, as much as I dreaded what I thought would be complicated, I picked up Sams Teach Yourself Google Analytics in 10 Minutes by Michael Miller.
What a relief. It wasn’t as complicated as I thought. Miller breaks down the definitions of the searches and terms you see on Google Analytics like:
- Bounce Rate: The percentage of visits in which the visitor enters and exits on the same page, without visiting any other pages on the site in between.
- Click-through rate: The percentage of peopole who view an item and then click it; calculated by dividing the number of clicks by the number of impressions.
